  • Gently dab (don't rub) away excess water with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Let it air-dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, radiators or a blow dryer — high heat can shrink, stiffen or crack the leather.
  • Filling it loosely with dry paper or a towel while it dries helps it keep its shape.
Conditioning
  • Condition every 6–12 months, or sooner if the leather feels dry or looks dull.
  • Use a leather cream or balsam made for full-grain leather (beeswax, lanolin or neatsfoot-oil based) — avoid silicone or petroleum products, which can seal the pores and dry the leather out.
  • Apply a small amount with a microfiber cloth in gentle circular motions, then let it absorb and buff lightly.
Marks and scratches
  • Full-grain buffalo leather darkens and develops a natural patina as it absorbs oils from handling and light — that's normal ageing, not damage.
  • Light surface scratches can often be buffed out with the warmth of your fingers or a clean cloth.
  • For a deeper scuff or dry spot, a small dab of leather conditioner usually blends it into the surrounding grain.
