About Zodiac Leather

Zodiac Leather bags are handcrafted in Rajasthan, India: briefcases, laptop bags, backpacks, duffles, totes, handbags and wallets for work, travel and every day. Almost all of the range is full-grain leather, the top layer of the hide with its natural grain left intact, so each bag gets better looking the more it is used.

How our bags are made

Every Zodiac Leather bag is handmade by our leather artisans in Rajasthan, a region with a long tradition of leatherwork. The leather is tanned with vegetable oils rather than harsh chemicals, which is why it starts slightly matte and gains a richer colour and shine with use.

We work with several leathers, each chosen for a job:

• Full-grain buffalo leather: thick and structured, used for most of our briefcases, backpacks and duffles.
• Cowhide and crazy horse leather: oiled and waxed, so scratches lighten and then blend back in.
• Goat leather: lighter and softer, used for some crossbody bags and backpacks.
• Croc-embossed leather: real leather pressed with a crocodile pattern. We never use crocodile or snake skin.
